THE SHORT ANSWER
Custom enterprise application development builds software around a defined business workflow. On Beat Digital connects web interfaces, Python services, SQL data, APIs, and existing enterprise tools to support work that standard platforms do not fully cover.
Sometimes the gap is a browser-based tool. Sometimes it is an integration, an administrative workflow, or a reliable way to expose prepared data. We define the task and the operating environment before selecting the interface and architecture.
Relevant experience
Published work includes CMS-integrated applications, a product catalog with SAP integration and search, a custom email scheduling platform, event check-in, and a user-system revamp. Those projects combine user-facing behavior with the data and permissions underneath it.
Interfaces that fit the workflow
We map what each user needs to see, enter, review, and approve. That can become an author-managed CMS component, a reporting view, an administrative tool, or a standalone web application. The interface follows the responsibility rather than exposing every implementation detail.
AEM and other CMS integrations can keep interactive tools within existing publishing workflows. Custom applications can support richer behavior where the platform needs an extension, with responsive layouts and keyboard-accessible interactions included in the delivery requirements.
Our product front-end engineering includes reusable React and TypeScript interfaces, rich document editing, data tables, chart presentation, and saved-work recovery. We connect those interface behaviors to the application’s data, permissions, and operating workflow, with scope defined around the people who will use and maintain it.
Python services, SQL, and client APIs
Python supports our API, automation, data-processing, and application work. SQL-backed storage can support records, validation, queues, permissions, and reporting. REST APIs provide deliberately scoped interfaces between those services and approved consumers.
The API contract identifies authentication, authorization, inputs, outputs, errors, and versioning responsibilities. Python runtime maintenance is a server-side engineering concern; an upgrade should be tested against dependencies and deployment behavior, not described as a new browser feature.
Integrate with the enterprise environment
Existing systems may include CRM, SAP data, search, email, video, and document platforms. We identify the available interface and ownership for each connection, then agree what the application is allowed to read or change.
SharePoint, Microsoft 365 (Office 365), Remote Desktop, and VPN access can be part of the client operating environment. We establish the access and collaboration requirements around the application. Existing Brightcove touchpoints can likewise be reviewed as a scoped media-integration requirement.
Delivery, review, and operational ownership
Source control, review, testing, and deployment planning are part of making an application maintainable. GitHub supports the development workflow, while tools such as Cursor may assist engineering work under the team’s review and validation process.
Operational application requirements can include time tracking, client data access, and recurring reporting. We plan logging, exception behavior, permissions, documentation, and ownership around the actual task. The handoff should let a support or engineering team understand how to operate the system and assess a future change.
What an engagement can deliver
- Workflow and interface specification
- User roles, actions, states, and integration boundaries.
- Application or API implementation
- The scoped interface and services supporting the business task.
- Validation and deployment plan
- Behavior checks, dependencies, and release responsibilities.
- Operating documentation
- Permissions, exceptions, support needs, and ownership.
Questions & answers
Can you extend an existing AEM or CMS website?
Yes. Our work includes interactive components and custom applications embedded in CMS experiences, with attention to authoring, governance, accessibility, and the supporting integrations.
Can you build a client-facing data API?
Yes. We scope the dataset, consumer, authentication, authorization, schema, and operating requirements before implementing the interface.
Do tools such as GitHub, Cursor, or VPN define the service?
They can be part of the development or access environment. The service is defined by the business workflow, application behavior, integrations, and deliverables agreed for the project.
